General Questions

We specialize in four core lawn treatments: core aeration, overseeding, fertilization programs, and pest control (grubs, ticks, and fleas). We focus exclusively on these services to deliver expert results - we do not offer mowing, landscaping, or general yard maintenance.
No, we do not offer mowing or general lawn maintenance. We're a specialized lawn treatment company focused on what actually improves lawn health. For mowing services, we can recommend trusted local providers in your area.
We serve Metro Detroit and surrounding Oakland and Wayne County communities, including Troy, Rochester, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, West Bloomfield, Novi, Northville, Plymouth, Farmington Hills, Royal Oak, and many more. Visit our Service Areas page for a complete list.
You can request a free quote by filling out our online form, calling us directly, or sending an email. We'll review your property information and provide a personalized quote within 24 hours.
We offer both options. Our fertilization programs run on a seasonal schedule, but all other services (aeration, overseeding, pest control) can be scheduled individually as needed. We don't require long-term contracts.

Aeration Questions

Core aeration is a process that removes small plugs of soil from your lawn, typically 2-3 inches deep. This relieves soil compaction, improves air and water flow to the roots, and creates an ideal environment for healthy grass growth.
The ideal time for aeration in Michigan is spring (April - May) or fall (August - October). Both seasons offer great conditions for your lawn to recover and thrive. Spring aeration paired with overseeding can quickly transform your lawn for summer enjoyment.
Most lawns benefit from annual aeration. Lawns with heavy foot traffic, clay soil, or significant compaction may benefit from twice-yearly aeration. We can assess your lawn and recommend the right frequency.
Leave them! The plugs will break down naturally within 2-3 weeks, returning nutrients to the soil. You can speed up the process by mowing over them once they've dried.

Overseeding Questions

Overseeding is the process of spreading grass seed over your existing lawn to fill in bare or thin areas, improve density, and introduce newer grass varieties with better disease resistance.
Yes, we strongly recommend it. Aeration creates ideal conditions for seed germination by improving seed-to-soil contact. Seeds that fall into aeration holes are protected and have direct access to soil, dramatically improving success rates.
Grass seed typically germinates in 7-21 days depending on the variety. You'll notice visible improvement in lawn thickness within 4-6 weeks. Full establishment takes one growing season.
Keep the seeded areas consistently moist (not soaked) for the first 2-3 weeks. Light watering 2-3 times daily is often needed. Once grass reaches 2 inches, gradually reduce watering frequency. We'll provide detailed instructions.

Fertilization Questions

Our standard program includes 5 applications throughout the growing season: early spring, late spring, summer, early fall, and late fall. Each application is formulated for that time of year's specific needs.
When applied correctly at proper rates, quality fertilizer won't burn your lawn. We use professional-grade products and calibrated equipment to ensure accurate application. We also consider weather conditions when scheduling.
Once the fertilizer has been watered in and dried (typically 1-2 hours after application or after the first rain), it's safe for normal lawn use. We recommend keeping pets off the lawn until then.

Pest Control Questions

We specialize in lawn-damaging and outdoor pests: grubs (Japanese beetle and European chafer larvae), ticks (deer ticks, dog ticks), and fleas. We don't handle indoor pest control or general insect treatments.
Signs of grub damage include irregular brown patches that pull up easily like loose carpet, increased animal activity (skunks, raccoons digging), and spongy turf. Peak damage typically appears in late summer to early fall.
Preventive treatment (May-July) stops grubs before they cause damage and is the most effective approach. Curative treatment (August-September) can kill active grubs but can't undo existing damage.
Professional yard treatments can reduce tick populations by 85-90%. We target tick harborage areas at lawn edges, shrub beds, and wooded borders. For best results, we recommend spring and fall treatments.

Scheduling & Payment

We recommend booking at least 1-2 weeks ahead during peak seasons (spring and fall). Earlier booking helps ensure you get your preferred timing.
We accept credit cards, debit cards, checks, and ACH bank transfers. Payment is due at time of service unless other arrangements are made.
Your satisfaction matters to us. If you have any concerns about a service, contact us and we'll work with you to address the issue. Keep in mind that lawn treatments require proper follow-up care like watering to achieve optimal results.
Light rain typically doesn't affect our services - in fact, moisture can be beneficial for aeration and seeding. For heavy rain or storms, we'll reschedule at no charge and work with you to find the next available time.
